Family law issues frequently cross state and even international boundaries.  Shaw Law Firm has handled divorce, child custody, child support, alimony, modifications to existing judgments, enforcement actions, family business issues and many other family law issues for clients who reside either outside Georgia or outside the United States.  To date we have worked with clients from:

Great Britain

We've also handled a wide variety of cases for military personnel stationed over seas.  In addition, we've represented clients who reside in almost every State in the United States.  In the majority of these cases, we successfully represented our clients without the client having to personally travel to Georgia.  Instead we were retained by and continued communication with the client via the use of email, overnight mail/shipping, teleconference, web cast, instant messaging and telephone.  Shaw Law Firm has successfully represented many international and interstate clients in this manner.

WHEN TO TRAVEL:

Again, while the majority of the cases we've handled required no personal travel to Georgia, on a case-by-case basis, we may determine that your case warrants making at least one trip to Georgia.  This is most often the case where child custody or child visitation is at issue.   However, even if it is not possible for you to travel to Georgia, we have successfully won custody modification orders and visitation disputes for clients, who for a variety of reasons, were unable to make the trip.  This will be an issue we will discuss with you and plan our case accordingly.
