FIRM PROFILE

Mr. Scott Shaw founded the Shaw Law Firm in 1995, practicing exclusively in the areas of divorce, child custody, child support, alimony, and other family law matters.  Mr. Shaw has a J.D. (cum laude - 1994) and an MBA (2001) from Duke University, Fuqua School of Business.   Mr. Shaw is the proud father of twins, born May, 2003 and has been married since 1992 to Julie Shaw, now Shaw Law Firm's Office Manager (also holds an MBA - 1994).  This husband-wife team help make the Shaw Law Firm both professional and supportive.

Family law is not an area most lawyers enjoy practicing. Yet the stakes in family law cases are higher than in any other area of law (except perhaps certain criminal cases).  Because of this, the Shaw Law Firm has focused its practice exclusively to the areas of divorce, child custody, child support, alimony, and other family law issues.  When the stakes are this high you need an attorney or lawyer who knows what they are doing and who is very good at it. Family law is not just a sideline to us, it is our only area of practice and we have become very good at it.

The firm’s philosophy is to aggressively champion its clients’ cause.  No apologies, no excuses, your case will be the most important thing to our firm and achieving your goals, whether through negotiation, mediation, trial, or other means is our only focus.
